Okay, so today I made it to the gym! It was Arm Day (Bis and Tris)
So here is what I did:
Biceps
4 sets of 8-12 wide barbell curls
4 sets of 8-12 narrow barbell curls
4 sets of 8-12 hammer curls (I upped my weight on this today so.... YAY ME!)
4 sets of 8-12 wide dumbbell curls
4 sets of 8-12 single cable curls
4 sets of 8-12 cable bar curl
4 sets of 8-12 bicep curl machine
Triceps
4 sets of 8-12 skull crushers w/ barbell
4 sets of 8-12 skull crushers w/ dumbbells
(as a brought the weight back up I flicked my arms from vertical to horizontal to work another muscle in my triceps instead of just repeating the same as skull crushers original)
4 sets of 8-12 single dumbbell extension
(You can do a higher weight and use both hands or use a lower, but still heavy weight, and do it single handed. I do it single, so that I can focus on the muscle I'm working & make sure each arm works equally instead of relying on one to do the work)
4 sets of 8-12 concentrated dumbbell press
(This is the same concept. I lay down on a flat bench and tricep press one hand, the other hand, then both. That is one rep, I repeat that to 12 or if my arms are about to give out, then 8)
4 sets of 8-12 single cable tricep pull downs
4 sets of 8-12 rope cable push down
4 sets of 8-12 tricep push down machine
I say 4 sets of 8-12 because you want to aim for 12. If you can consistently do 12 reps with the weight you are using throughout 4 sets and you are not DYING, then you need to up your weight. You should barely be able to get to 12. When you are at a weight that is good for you, or upping your weight for the first time, you should still aim for 12, but if it is too much, at least do 8 reps and aim for 10 the next time until you can make it to 12. This will help you raise your weight without causing injury!
**ALSO.. women .. DO NOT worry about getting huge and body builder bodies. This can only happen if you are taking supplements that feed your body testosterone. Women do not have a natural ability to become that big so DO NOT be scared to up your weight. That is something to be proud of and excited about!
Comment below if you upped your weight recently or what muscle you like to workout the most.
If there are more tips that you'd like to read about then comment that below too and I will do my best to answer!
